Paralympic champion and inspirational trailblazer, Alexa Learly has turned resilience into greatness both in sport and through her impact beyond the pool.

Alexa Leary, known to many as "Lex" is one of Australia's most inspiring athletes, a Paralympic champion, world record holder and powerful advocate for resilience and positivity. A promising triathlete in her teenage years, Alexa's sporting career changed course after a life-threating cycling accident in 2021 left her with a traumatic brain injury. Refusing to let her story end there, she turned to para swimming, where here determination and natural talent quickly propelled her onto the international stage.

Alexa made her Paralympic debut in Paris 2024, winning gold in the 100m freestyle S9 and silver in the 50m freestyle S9, instantly becoming one of the breakout stars of the Games. She later broke the world record in the100m freestyle S9 at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.

Looking ahead to La 2028 and then the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Alexa continues to inspire Australians through her courage, positivity and relentless pursuit of excellence.
