About Us

Habitance Energy Positive Architecture and Urban Design Studio offers design consultation and services specialising in Public Transport Infrastructure, Multi-Residential and Community Projects. Working with engineers, developers, regional councils, government departments, NFP's, community organisations and individuals, we strive to design and deliver projects which provide economic, environmental and social sustainability.

Director Alex Hoffmann has 30 years experience, and held senior roles in Hassell, Group GSA and Archipelago in Brisbane, prior to launching Habitance in 2021. Having settled on the Sunshine Coast in 2008, he is passionate about the region, and using his design intelligence a to benefit the local community, visitors and our future generations.

Projects include Stringybark Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge, MicroUnits at 92 Parker Street, Aura Townhouses, Share Houses, Retirement Village, Sustainable Residential Developments, MultiResidential and Mixed Use projects, Stations and public and intermodal studies.

Alex is on the Board of the Sunshine Coast Business Council, and brings an intelligent and different perspective to discussions around transport infrastructure and community services. Habitance stives to 'house our community', prepare for 2032 and leverage the 2032 legacy to benefit future generations.
