Name: Dealing with China Workshop
Date: November 16, 2018
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM EST
Website: China Advisory
Event Description:
Dealing with China

This practical workshop will discuss and practice some of the cultural, business etiquette, protocols and language to be used when engaging with Chinese customers, delegations, business partners and prospects.   More specifically it will discuss:
 The role of ‘guanxi’ (关系) and ‘mianzi’ (面子) in business dealings;
  • Protocols around the Chinese banquet (seating arrangements, toasts, speeches), business meetings ( e.g. business card exchanges and preparations) and gift giving;
  • How to welcome and farewell a Chinese customer, extend courtesies and count in Mandarin.
The introductory workshop is designed to enhance the participants’ understanding of China. In China, first impressions can make a difference. So an understanding of the basic do’s and don’ts will optimise the participants’ prospects for success and will expedite building a positive relationship of mutual trust and respect. These qualities are so often the foundation for business success with Chinese customers.
